The magic Spoon

This ultra lightweight spoon works like magic (hence the name) when it comes to catching fish. The darting action and eight different vibrant colors are highly effective in attracting Kokanee, Trout, Sockeye, and Shad. Mack’s Lure may be best known for its Wedding Ring® spinner and Smile Blade®. However this 45 year company has a few old time favorites that sometimes get overlooked by those who use their most popular products. Being that trout, and especially kokanee season is in full force on many lakes throughout the U.S. and Canada, I can’t think of a better time to share this must have lure. A lot of old time anglers know how effective spoons are for fishing. The UV Magic Imperial Spoon does a phenomenal job with putting more fish in your boat. It was a recent visit with the owner of “Team Takedown” Guide Service, Mike Roth, who uses the Imperial spoon with tremendous success while fishing for Kokanee that reminded me about my past success with this lure. The extremely lightweight spoon is only 1/22 oz. and comes with a single siwash #6 hook. The combination of vivid colors and ultra-light weight are keys in helping boat more fish. We both like to use the UV Imperial Spoon behind a Mack’s Lure 4” Double D Dodger because it really adds to the darting action. Sometimes less is more and this simple presentation really works in allowing you to catch more fish. Attach your mainline to the swivel on top of the Double D, in the desired hole. Attach the spoon to the bottom of the dodger with approximately 18” leader between the spoon and dodger. I usually have the best results using the brighter colors in clear water, and the darker colors in water with less visibility. A diagram on the back of the Double D Dodger shows five different attachment points, which allow you to spread your lines and out of the boat path, like a side planer. It also delivers a stop and go action to your lure, which reduces the need of making a turn to catch fish.
